Editorial policy
Creative Match Report aims to make thoughtful creative choices easier to see and discuss. We explain ideas in plain language, distinguish opinion from factual description and correct errors when they are brought to our attention.
Accuracy and judgement
We check factual statements against the material available to us and take care not to present a personal interpretation as a universal rule. Design judgements can differ; where a point is a matter of taste or context, we make that clear. We do not claim first-hand testing or research that has not taken place.
Independence and partnerships
Editorial choices are made for their relevance to the publication, not because a partner requests favourable coverage. Paid or otherwise partner-supported material is identified clearly so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial content. A partnership does not guarantee inclusion or a positive assessment.
Corrections
If you spot an error, contact us with the page and the detail in question. We review correction requests and amend material when warranted, making the nature of a meaningful correction clear to readers.
Images and illustrations
Illustrations may be created with AI tools. When an AI-generated image could be mistaken for a documentary photograph or a real example, we label it accordingly. Illustrations are used to clarify or explore an idea, not as proof of a factual claim.
Good matches leave room for difference
Creative elements need not be identical to belong together. The most interesting pairings give each part a role while making the whole feel considered.
